PrimaLoft® Goes Green with New Insulation

Albany, NY – Committed to environmental responsibility, PrimaLoft® – Insulation Technologyâ„¢ developed PrimaLoft® Eco, an earth-friendly insulation for performance and comfort to be used in sleeping bags, outerwear and footwear. Big Agnes and Sierra Designs have adopted the new insulation in their Spring 2008 lines of sleeping bags, sleep pads and accessories. PrimaLoft Eco will be introduced at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, August 9-12, 2007 in Salt Lake City, UT, booth # 40173.

PrimaLoft Eco is 50/50 blend of traditional PrimaLoft fibers and recycled fibers. The recycled fibers are produced from post-consumer products and post-industrial plastic waste. PrimaLoft Eco is a high loft performance insulation that is thermally efficient, lightweight, compressible, water resistant, and offers superior softness to keep you dry and comfortable.

Sierra Designs is introducing four insulated sleeping bags as part of its Green Effect Program. The Men’s Nache 0 and Women’s Winema 0 are zero-degree bags using PrimaLoft Eco insulation and constructed with recycled shell and liner materials. The 30-degree sleeping bags Men’s Lazer 30 and Women’s Flare 30 will also feature the new insulation.

Big Agnes is updating its Crystal 30°, Lost Dog 50° and Nugget 45° sleeping bags as well as its REM Dual Core and Insulated Core sleep pads with PrimaLoft Eco insulation. The company is also expanding its offering of PrimaLoft Eco insulated products with the introduction of a new insulated air core pad, REM Diversion Recycled, and some new booties, the Miner Mall Booty and the Minnie D Mine-Kids Chuka Booty.
