ALBANY, New York — (Sept. 8, 2010) — PrimaLoft®, the premier manufacturer of performance insulations and yarns, announces its sponsorship of L.L.Bean’s Guide to the Outdoors weekly television series on the Outdoor Channel.
PrimaLoft®, a division of Albany International Corp., was originally developed for the U.S. Army as a water resistant synthetic alternative to down. Today, PrimaLoft is the insulation of choice for category-leading brands in the outdoor, home, military, hunting and workwear markets, including L.L.Bean, The North Face, Patagonia, and Merrell, and is recognized globally as the benchmark leader in performance insulation.
The 2010 Guide to The Outdoors series will consist of 13 new 30-minute episodes beginning August 26th. Episodes will air three times weekly.
L.L. Bean’s great-grandson, Bill Gorman, and fly-casting champion, Tim Rajeff, will host the popular series as they explore outdoor destinations across the globe. Viewers will experience unique destinations with highlights from tracking coues deer in Mexico, hunting white-tail in Texas and fishing trophy trout in Argentina. Along the way, Gorman and Rajeff will share their expertise and showcase the latest in outdoor gear and technology.
“We’re very happy to have PrimaLoft as a sponsor for the show. Both of our companies have such strong brands and name recognition, combined with great credibility in the outdoor market. It’s a very natural, very fitting alignment,” said Bill Gorman.
As a major sponsor of Guide to the Outdoors, the brand will be clearly visible to viewers via PrimaLoft’s :30 television commercial (a first for the brand), open and closing billboards, and other marketing vehicles including a presence in L.L.Bean catalogs, customer e-mails, web and retail.
L.L.Bean is recognized for setting the standard for quality and craftsmanship for the hunting and fishing markets, while PrimaLoft’s state-of-the-art insulation enables peak performance even in the most extreme environments.
“PrimaLoft is pleased to support L.L.Bean though our sponsorship of ‘Guide to the Outdoors’,” said Eileen Berner, sales and marketing director for PrimaLoft. “L.L. Bean is a valued customer and long-standing partner to PrimaLoft. The Guide to the Outdoors program will enable us to reach millions of viewers – many of whom are avid hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who could benefit from using PrimaLoft insulated garments and gear on their hunts.”
