PRIMALOFT® SEES CONTINUED BRAND PARTNER GROWTH IN ACTIVE PLATFORM TECHNOLOGIES FOR SPRING ’17
Partnership with Patagonia Results in PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco, First 55% Post-Consumer Recycled Content
LATHAM, N.Y. (July 21, 2016) – PrimaLoft, Inc. (www.primaloft.com), the world leader in providing comfort solutions with high-performance insulations and fabrics, will showcase a wide range of brand partners using PrimaLoft® Silver and Gold Insulation Active, PrimaLoft® Performance Fleece, and PrimaLoft® Performance Fabrics at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2016. In addition, the brand will introduce PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco, constructed with 55% post-consumer recycled content, a result of its partnership with Patagonia. Styles featuring these technologies will be on display at PrimaLoft booth #40043.
“We have seen strong, consistent growth with both new and current brand partners in the adoption of PrimaLoft® technologies, especially the Active platform,” said Mike Joyce, president and CEO of PrimaLoft, Inc. “Consumers are demanding comfort solutions for their outdoor activities in both cold and warmer, transitional climates. Our Active technologies enable outdoor devotees to focus completely on their experience.”
PrimaLoft® Gold and Silver Insulation Active are the only insulation solutions offering both high breathability and unmatched thermal properties. They are designed to regulate consumers’ comfort level during intense activity while providing performance without compromise in a wide range of conditions, all while being stable enough to pair with highly breathable, stretch shell and liner fabrics. With an industry-leading warmth-to-weight ratio, the construction of PrimaLoft® Active insulations enables excess heat and moisture to escape, keeping the user comfortable, warm and dry.
PrimaLoft® Performance Fleece styles outperform conventional fleece, keeping consumers dry and comfortable regardless of the conditions. PrimaLoft® proprietary ultra-fine water resistant fibers are low-absorbing, providing an accelerated dry rate and the highest retention of warmth, even in wet conditions.
PrimaLoft® Performance Fabrics, including yarns, flannel and even denim, feature ultra-fine fibers that are finer than cashmere, creating superior softness and comfort in all seasons. PrimaLoft® proprietary ultra-fine water resistant fibers have an accelerated dry rate and increased breathability. PrimaLoft® Performance Fabric absorbs less moisture, dries faster, and delivers improved comfort for a variety of active pursuits.
Iconic outdoor brands utilizing PrimaLoft technologies include: adidas Outdoor, Bergans of Norway, Billabong, Degre7, Gore Running/Gore Bike, Helly Hansen, Houdini, Kappa, Lacroix, LaSportiva, L.L. Bean, Montane, Norrona, Patagonia, Rab, Red Fox, Reusch, Roxy, Schöffel, Tierra, and VAUDE.
The result of a challenge from Patagonia to introduce a post-consumer recycled component to the PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation in the Nano Puff® line of products, PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco will be featured exclusively in the Nano Puff® line for one year, beginning Fall ’16, before becoming available to the rest of the industry for Fall ’17, and beyond.
“PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco is an exciting addition to the brand’s line of eco-friendly products,” continued Joyce. “This innovative new insulation matches all of the same performance characteristics as the original PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation, which is regarded as an industry benchmark, while introducing 55% post-consumer recycled material. This kind of collaboration pushes technology development even further, with the consumer benefitting the most. Our unique partnership with Patagonia has resulted in the next generation of sustainable insulation.”
“We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with PrimaLoft to develop a uniquely sustainable product,” said Product Line Director of Alpine and Snow Kristo Torgersen at Patagonia. “This partnership is part of our continuing efforts to reduce the environmental impact of doing business, here at Patagonia and beyond. Ultimately, there are three winners: the environment, the consumer and the retailer.”
