(Boulder, CO) May 21, 2013 – Outdoor adventure brand Primus is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Boland as the brand’s director of sales. Excelling in outdoor product in the cooking, heating and lighting categories since 1892, the brand has created this new role as part of its current growth strategy that puts Primus back on the map as the best in its category. Boland will manage existing sales representatives, agencies and channels while looking for new opportunities to grow the brand in North America. He will report to John Walbrecht, CEO of Primus’s parent company Fenix Outdoor North America, and as part of the Fenix portfolio, Boland will also take a lead in sales efforts within the outdoor channel for Brunton Outdoor, sibling brand to Primus.
“Erron Sorensen, president of Brunton Outdoor, and I have known Robert from over 15 years of working together in the outdoor world. He is truly talented and his wealth of experience in the industry will serve as an incredible asset to both Primus and Brunton,” said Walbrecht. “His passion for the outdoors is exactly what we hold to a high standard at Fenix and it is an absolute pleasure to welcome him to the team.”
Boland has over 20 years of proven sales growth success in the outdoor industry. Most recently, he served as the president and owner of RTB Brand Partners, LLC, a sales agency he founded in 2005 that represents a range of footwear, apparel and accessory brands including Tommy Bahama and Merrell. There, Boland’s key accounts included Cabela’s, Sportsman’s Guide, Famous Footwear, Bass Pro and Hikingboots.com, among others. Prior to owning his agency, Boland served as the product line manager for Merrell Accessories and as vice president of Victorinox/Swiss Army Apparel.
“I am excited to sign on with such a great brand that has over 120 years of experience in providing outdoor enthusiasts with the best equipment to enjoy or survive in the outdoors,” said Boland. “The collection of Primus stoves and equipment is second to none, and the future looks even better.”
