Salt Lake City, UT (February 4, 2015) – PROBAR®, creator of delicious, convenient, plant-based food products, is excited to continue as an Official Nutrition Sponsor of the Tinkoff-Saxo Pro Cycling Team. Lead by Alberto Contador, winner of Tour de France, Giro and Vuelta, Tinkoff-Saxo will fuel their racing and training with PROBAR’s sustainable, real food choices. With a lineup that features up-and-coming stars Peter Sagan and Rafal Majka, and veterans like Michael Rogers and Ivan Basso, the team is poised for another strong year of cycling.
After a successful sponsorship during the second half of 2014 in which team cyclists used PROBAR® products during the Tour de France, US PRO Challenge, and La Vuelta, Tinkoff-Saxo was happy to extend its partnership with PROBAR® into 2015. Tinkoff-Saxo plans to use the Meal and bite bars before riding, and will primarily rely upon the FUEL bars and BOLT chews for energy during races and training rides. PROBAR BASE® protein bars will also be consumed throughout the season, with the team relying on the 20 grams of plant-based protein to aid in muscle growth and recovery.
