Salt Lake City, UT – February 8, 2010 – PROBAR, the leading producer of delicious, convenient, healthy plant-based food products, announces the addition of the Old School PB&J bar to the existing ‘original’ collection. The bar, made with organic oats, organic peanut butter and raspberry puree, will debut later this month at PROBAR retailers nationwide.
“We are a meal replacement bar company, so why not recreate the universal lunchbox classic that has transcended through generations,” said PROBAR founder, Art Eggertsen. “There’s nothing more comfortable or nostalgic than a PB&J.”
To create the PB&J flavor, PROBAR boosted the amount of peanut butter in the bar to compliment the rich raspberry jam experience. The Old School PB&J utilizes nutrition rich, flavorful ingredients such as pineapple, papaya, pumpkin seeds, flax and sesame seeds. Like all bars in the original line, the Old School PB&J is certified organic, 100 percent vegan and 70 percent raw.
“As with all PROBARs, the Old School PB&J is perfect for kids’ lunchboxes, as an after-school snack, and of course on-the-go,” said Jason Lambert, National Sales & Marketing Manager. “This flavor also brings out the kid in all of us, taking us back to mom’s kitchen.”
All bars in the original collection of PROBARs are made from combinations of whole grains, chunky nuts and fruit. The current line has seven flavors, Whole Berry Blast, Superfood Slam, Art’s Original, Koka Moka, Nutty Banana Boom, Cran-Lemon Twister and Apple Cinnamon Crunch.
