KENT, Wash. — In celebration of National Bike Month and Military Appreciation Month, Raleigh Bicycles is giving back to our nations service men and women through the Ride 2 Recovery (R2R) Give Back program. For every road bike sold now through May 27th, Raleigh will donate $50 to R2R to help rehabilitate and strengthen the daily lives of wounded veterans.

“We think it is fantastic that cycling can be part of the physical and psychological recovery process for the men and women who have served this country and paid a high cost” said Matt Millen, Marketing and Communications Manager at Raleigh Bicycles. “Ride 2 Recovery is doing an amazing job of facilitating cycling experiences for veterans and our goal through the Give Back program is to provide R2R with additional financial support so that they can show more vets the therapeutic benefits of cycling.”

R2R is a national program that uses cycling as a means of rehabilitating the physical, emotional, and psychological effects of war. From amputations and prosthetics to PTSD and depression, many vets return home from war to life as they never knew it. R2R Challenge and Honor Rides are aimed at helping veterans and active duty members overcome the obstacles they face as part of their rehabilitation, while developing a supportive community.

Eligible Raleigh road bikes in the R2R Give Back program include: three road race-ready steeds in the Militis series, the Singulus tri bike, and bikes in the high-performance Revenio/Capri carbon and aluminum endurance race series.

Funds raised through the R2R Honor Rides support the participation of injured veterans in Project HERO cycling programs. For more about R2R, visit: www.Ride2Recovery.com.

Also, don’t forget Raleigh’s Get Out & Ride consumer rebate program, which offers $100 or $50 back on eligible carbon and aluminum bikes, respectively, running through the end of May.
