Ready, Set, Ragnar! – Klean Kanteen Announces Sustainability Partnership with Ragnar Trail Series

CHICO, Calif. (April 4, 2017) – Delivering lower impact experiences through reusable solutions and free filtered water for trail running events, Klean Kanteen announced today a continuation of its multi-year partnership with the Ragnar Trail Series as the Official Sustainability Partner for the 2017 race season. Together with Klean Kanteen, the Ragnar Trail Series presented by Salomon is pioneering the best running events by offering 19 cupless events across North America.

“The Ragnar trail series is a natural fit for Klean – fundamentally, we share the same values including a love of and commitment to protecting outdoor places and creating environmentally responsible events. For Klean, events are our mission in motion,” said Jeff Cresswell, Co-Owner at Klean.

Klean event partnerships are typically multi-year agreements, working alongside event promoters on sustainability plans and goals to help reduce waste.

“A natural fit for Klean’s mission, the Ragnar team is actively exploring a lower-impact model for bringing fans together, starting with a ban on disposable vessels in the race venues,” said Klean Kanteen Field Marketing Manager Melissa McClary. “As refreshing as a post-race beer is, we want to do more, and support runners throughout their entire journey. From the in-store REI-based “Ready, Set, Ragnar” events, to our onsite presence offering free filtered water and reusables for beer and coffee after a long day, Klean is proud to be along for the entire run.”

In preparation for the various relays, Klean authorized dealer REI will offer relay participants training runs, pre-race parties and Ready, Set, Ragnar events, at select locations nationwide. Klean will be onsite at many of these events, helping with education and bringing the stoke around reusables. For more information about REI’s Ragnar preparation tips and events, click here.

During each Ragnar Trail event, teams of four or eight members run relay-style on three different single track loops that start and finish at Ragnar Village. Running through the day and night, teams will continue until each member has completed all assigned loops. The festival atmosphere —sleeping in tents, roasting s’mores over a bonfire, and enjoying a water or a cold brew in a stainless steel Klean Kanteen pint— makes Ragnar Trail relays one of the best running experiences available.

Next on the schedule for the Ragnar Trail Series is Kentuckiana, Kentucky, on April 7, 2017. For more information on the Ragnar Trail Series or to sign up for an event click here.
