The innovative safety concept was born when RECCO founder Magnus Granhed developed an electronic reflector that could be used to locate people buried under snow. Small, lightweight RECCO detectors used by ski patrollers, helicopters and other search and rescue personnel can quickly locate buried reflectors, making avalanche search-and-rescue easier, faster and safer. The detectors also locate avalanche beacon signals simultaneously.
