Reel Rock Film Tour Hits Three Cities September 5th

The 2nd annual Reel Rock Film Tour kicks off September 5th, highlighting an exciting new film about the climbs and travels of esteemed rock climber Chris Sharma.

The 2007 Reel Rock Film Tour (—featuring a new film about rock climbing star Chris Sharma—kicks off its 60-city North American tour on September 5th, with stops in Boulder, Colorado, Salt Lake City, Utah and Encinitas, California. The Tour’s first week wraps up with shows in Telluride, Colorado, San Francisco and Santa Cruz, California. Sharma will appear at all three California shows, along with filmmaker Josh Lowell.

Lowell of Big Up Productions, in collaboration with filmmaker Peter Mortimer of Sender Films, produced a new film for the Tour, which annually showcases climbing and adventure films for enthusiastic audiences of climbers, outdoor and film aficionados at high-energy evenings of entertainment.

This year’s Reel Rock Film Tour highlights King Lines: Chris Sharma’s Search for the Planet’s Greatest Climbs, which will take audiences globetrotting alongside Chris Sharma—the 25-year old climbing phenomenon—as he discovers and climbs the world’s most outrageously difficult and beautiful rock climbing formations. Sharma, who has set the bar in his sport with improbable, gravity-defying feats of free-climbing wizardry, was captured on film with high definition cameras, making King Lines the first climbing film to be shot with this advanced technology. A segment of the film won the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Camerawork in April.
