Renowned Ovarian Cancer Researcher and Clinician Joins HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation Board of Directors
DENVER, Colo. (September 9, 2009) – HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation has elected Dr. Kian Behbakht, renowned ovarian cancer doctor and researcher, to its board of directors. HERA, an acronym for Health, Empowerment, Research and Awareness, focuses on education and awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, promotes early detection and also supports cutting-edge ovarian cancer research.
Dr. Behbakht, who is currently associate professor of gynecologic oncology and basic reproductive sciences at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, has also taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Rush Medical College and is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as gynecologic oncology.
A widely published and a highly sought-after lecturer on a wide range of subjects pertaining to ovarian cancer and ovarian cancer research, Dr. Behbakht brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge about the disease to HERA’s board of directors. He will serve on the Science and Community Grants Committee and the Education and Awareness Committee, providing invaluable insight into the complexities of ovarian cancer.
