FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-draft
Current Research Shows BOB® Revolution Stroller is a
Top-Selling Accessory in Running Specialty Stores
BOISE, ID (December 16, 2008) – In shopping for performance products, runners are considering more than just their feet and workout fuel – they’re also focusing on family. The BOB Revolution, a versatile jogging stroller that helps facilitate freedom for active families, was recently announced as a top-selling accessory in running specialty stores around the country for year-to-date 2008.
As featured in the current issue of Running Intelligence, Running RETAILTrak reports compiled by the Leisure Trends Group of Boulder, CO, show the stroller as one of 20 top-selling non footwear, apparel and hosiery items, ranked by dollars sold. The point-of-sale data gathered since April 2007 was generated from more than 100 running specialty stores nationwide.
As one of the top-selling accessories, the BOB Revolution is in the company of products from core running brands such as PowerBar®, Timex® and Bodyglide®.
“Runners are extremely discerning in terms of the performance products they rely on, so this ranking is really a testament to the quality and innovative design of the Revolution,†said Susan Becker, marketing manager for BOB. “In an economy where consumers are closely evaluating expenditures, it’s exciting to see that the running market understands and appreciates the value of the BOB products and features as they relate to an active family lifestyle.â€
Like all BOB strollers, the Revolution is designed to support on-the-go family activities with specialty features including a state-of-the-art suspension system, a tracking adjustment capability, and a rugged, lightweight frame built to sustain use for many years with multiple children.
However, the popular Revolution is best known for its trademark 12†front wheel, which can swivel for easy maneuverability around tight corners in town or be locked forward for jogging and off-roading. Due to its versatile design and classic appeal, the model counts both athletes and Hollywood celebrities as users. MSRP: $389
In addition to the Revolution, BOB also manufactures the lightweight Ironman, designed specifically for serious runners and favored by Ironman Champions; the Sport Utility Stroller, a traditional fixed-front-wheel jogger that takes easily to any terrain; and other specialty models.
