(ATLANTA, GA— March 29, 2017) — Sleep technology innovator, Responsive Surface Technology, LLC (“ReST”) has partnered with Olympian and multiple time Ironman Champion triathlete, Andy Potts. As part of his training and recovery, Andy sleeps on a ReST Bed™ which was designed to help athletes sleep better and recover faster.

Potts began his athletic career as a swimmer and got involved in triathlon racing only 18 months prior to the 2004 Olympic Games. He represented the United States at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, and he has continued to excel in the sport with victories at the Pan American Games, Ironman 70.3 World Championships, plus 7 Ironman Champion titles.

“Andy is a well-respected and dedicated triathlete who truly believes in giving back to the sport,” says Lloyd Sommers, General Manager of ReST. “Shooting for 11 hours of sleep per night, Andy takes his sleep very seriously. As an accomplished athlete who values sleep’s impact on recovery, Andy is an ideal partner for ReST.”

ReST has created the only truly smart bed – winner of “Innovation” and “People’s Choice” awards at CES, the world’s most important consumer electronics show. The ReST Bed™ promotes better circulation, which increases the amount of oxygen muscles can receive. The sleeper can customize pressure-relieving adjustments to the parts of the body that need them most that night.

Additionally, the ReST Bed’s™ patented fabric senses the sleeper’s unique shape and pressure profile – and then uses that data to ensure that the surface automatically responds to improve spinal alignment and head-to-toe back support.

“As much as people talk about the importance of sleep, I still think it is underrated,” says Potts. “When I’m preparing for a major race I try to average 11 hours a night for 6 weeks prior to race day! A great night’s sleep allows me feel more alert mentally and physically, so I can be the best version of myself, be it in training, coaching or as a husband and father. The ReST Bed™ is the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on, and I like how I’m able to focus on specific body parts depending on how I’m feeling. It has allowed me to rest even better and feel more recovered after workouts.”

Potts will be racing multiple Ironman races throughout 2017, including Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico, Ironman Lake Placid, and the Ironman Hawaii World Championships in October. You can follow Andy’s training, racing, and even resting through Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/andy_potts/
