Chattanooga (TN) – This October, Rock/Creek and the Triple Crown Bouldering Series is teaming up with Marmot in a continuing effort to support the Cumberland Trail State Scenic Trail located in Eastern Tennessee. Still a work-in-progress with much work to be done, the State Park, when fully-completed, will include over 300 miles of continuous trail that will thread its way along the beautiful and dramatic Cumberland Escarpment.
“The finished Cumberland Trail will yield access to potentially excellent crags and walls that are relatively ‘undiscovered’ by the climbing community,†explains Chad Wykle, Buyer for Rock Creek Outfitters and co-organizer of the Triple Crown Bouldering Series – now in its seventh year. The Cumberland Escarpment is already home to some of the very best climbing areas the South has to offer; Laurel Falls (crags and boulders), Buzzard Point, Suck Creek Crags, the Obed, the Tennessee Wall and many other crags and boulderfields.
During the entire month of October 2009, a portion of all proceeds from Marmot sales at Rock/Creek will be donated to the Friends of the Cumberland Trail (FOTC); a non-profit organization dedicated to the completion and support of the Cumberland Trail.
In addition, all Marmot sales from Rock/Creek will be 10%-off throughout this period. To take part in this promotion, simply visit www.rockcreek.com to shop the entire Fall 2009 Marmot line. At point of purchase place ‘TCROWN’ inside the “Promo Code” to receive the 10% and support the Cumberland Trail.
Please join Marmot, Rock/Creek and the Triple Crown Bouldering Series in our effort to support this fantastic resource.
