Rock/Creek today announces that registration for the 2010 Rock/Creek Trail Series has opened. Growth from the 2009 Trail Series and national recognition for races such as the 10th annual Rock/Creek StumpJump 50k will make for an exciting 2010 season. 2,000-3,000 racers are expected for 10 race dates and 14 different race distances from a “kiddie k” up to a 50 miler. Race proceeds benefit The Wilderness Trail Association, a new 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to promoting outdoor recreation and securing access to the outdoors.
Taking place among some of the most dramatic ridges, gorges, and waterways in the mountainous areas surrounding Chattanooga, TN, the Rock/Creek Trail Series beckons runners of all experience levels to experience self discovery.
Racers will discover hidden spots such as Miller Cave during the Mountain Stage Race, unique rock formations like Mushroom Rock and Indian Rock House on Signal Mountain, bluff views spanning Lookout Mountain, TN/GA, and winding singletrack trails along Raccoon Mountain.
This year’s series offers a more user-friendly division of information on every race page. Patagonia will provide all pre-registered racers a Runshade synthetic tee. Rock/Creek will also be posting day-of race results and images.
