January 17, 2006 – Boulder, CO. – Outlast Technologies, Inc. announces the launch of the new Royal Robbins® Jonathan Plaid shirt powered with Outlast, the original temperature-regulation technology.
Royal Robbins®, a leading manufacturer of travel and outdoor apparel, has entered into a licensing agreement with Outlast Technologies, Inc. to employ Outlast® yarn in the new Jonathan Plaid shirt as part of the men’s fall 2006 collection.
“Royal Robbins has specialized in designing innovative clothing for 30 years,†said Bob Orlando, president of Royal Robbins. “With the Jonathan Plaid, we selected the perfect combination of materials and manufacturing techniques to achieve our signature rugged, yet stylish, look with the added benefit of Outlast® yarn to provide maximum comfort.â€
HOW IT WORKS
Outlast® technology uses materials known as “Phase-Change Materials†(PCM’s) which interact with the body’s skin temperature to help buffer against temperature changes. “The PCM’s have the ability to absorb and store excess body heat, then release it when you need it most,†explains Sarah Barclay, Outlast Technologies Director of Business Development. “As with all Outlast® products, the Jonathan Plaid is designed to be worn whether you are flying to Kathmandu or sticking it out in the office. The result is all day comfort – not too hot, not too cold.“
