North Vancouver, BC (Dec 1 2015) New for Spring 2016, Arc’teryx introduces a brand new, high output fabric technology into its Endorphin mountain running line with the new Norvan SL Hoody. Weighing only 107g (w’s medium), it utilizes the latest and lightest new fabric from WL Gore. Gore-Tex® with Permanent Beading Surface, a revolutionary ultralight fabric technology that continuously repels water.
Designed for the challenges of high output mountain running, the new Norvan SL Hoody protects against rain and wind while reducing the accumulation of perspiration during aerobic activities in wet weather.
Unique to this fabric technology, the outer surface of the jacket is the weather barrier, preventing absorption of water and eliminating the need for an exterior fabric that can wet out and cause chilling.
By removing the face, it not only significantly reduces the overall weight of the garment, but also increases its breathability, creating a greater level of comfort for a runner during high aerobic activities. This revolutionary laminate construction delivers outstanding moisture vapor transmission from the inside out, while the functional interior backer textile provides for great next to skin comfort.
The lightest and most breathable Gore-Tex® Fabric technology available, a few quick shakes of the Norvan SL will render the surface completely dry. This excellent balance of protection and comfort allows the wearer to leave the garment on continuously – rain or shine.
The result – the lightest waterproof, windproof, breathable GORE-TEX® jacket available that enables runners to maintain performance in an extremely wide range of weather conditions.
