Runners to Your Mark! Fun and Fitness Expo Kicks Off Ogden Marathon
The fourth annual Fun and Fitness Expo will officially start the 2009 Zions Bank Ogden Marathon weekend for an anticipated 15,000 runners, fans and members of the Ogden community. The Fun and Fitness Expo, held at the Historic Union Station on Friday May 15, 2009, will host an interactive mix of runner registration and clinics, children’s activities and local vendors between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

OGDEN, Utah – The fourth annual Fun and Fitness Expo will officially start the 2009 Zions Bank Ogden Marathon weekend for an anticipated 15,000 runners, fans and members of the Ogden community. The Fun and Fitness Expo, held at the Historic Union Station on Friday May 15, 2009, will host an interactive mix of runner registration and clinics, children’s activities and local vendors between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
“Whether attendees are looking for last minute marathon tips, have a child who is dying to ‘bop’ with the Radio Disney Road Crew or are just looking to score a good deal on running gear, the Fun and Fitness Expo is the place to be,” said Jennifer Stockard, executive director of the Get Out And Live (GOAL) Foundation. “Our hope is that individuals and families, alike, will participate in the festival and be inspired to Get Out And Live a more healthy and active life.”
Produced by the GOAL Foundation, the Fun and Fitness Expo is free to attend and open to the public.
Runner Registration:
Packet pick-up for registered racers will be Friday only and must be picked up at the Expo. Packets will include runner’s guide, runner’s clothing bag, bib, timing chip and the official Ogden Marathon t-shirt.
The 2009 Ogden Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay are sold out. Those who want to participate in the Ogden Marathon 5K can register at the Fun and Fitness Expo or online at http://www.ogdenmarathon.com.
Runner Clinics:
This year’s Fun and Fitness Expo Runner Clinics will be led by Dane Rauschenberg. Rauschenberg is a motivational speaker and amateur athlete who successively ran a certified marathon every weekend in 2006. Each clinic will run for 30 minutes with a Q&A session to follow.

Disney Radio Road Crew:
For the first time at the Fun and Fitness Expo, attendees can join the Radio Disney Road Crew between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for a high-impact music and dancing experience. A Radio Disney DJ will be on hand playing the latest hits from artists like Jesse McCartney, Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers and David Archuleta, among others. The Radio Disney Road crew will also be teaching attendees the Hannah Montana Hoedown Throwdown dance.
