Ryders Eyewear Celebrates 25 Totally Bitchin’ Years

Fast Athletes and Loud Neon to Enhance Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

NORTH VANCOUVER, Canada (July 21, 2011) – Ryders Eyewear, the premier manufacturer of high-performance and affordable eyewear, today announced two unique events to take place at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, highlighting the brand’s 25th anniversary.

On Thursday, August 4th, world-famous ultra runner Karl Meltzer will be signing autographs at Ryders booth #34615. All existing and prospective dealers are encouraged to stop by to chat with ‘Speedgoat Karl’ from 2-4 pm, or until happy hour starts. Because runners drink beer, too.

On Friday, August 5th, the Ryders booth will be getting loud with an 80’s retro party from 3:45-5:45 at their booth. The theme of the party, “Totally Bitchin’ Since 1986” is a fitting choice for a company born in the era of neon and mullets. Party-goers will be able to enjoy birthday cake and microbrews while they check out the new eyewear styles that will be on display.

The 25th anniversary year has been a busy one for Ryders Eyewear. After a 5-year hiatus, the company’s founder and first Canadian Mountain Bike Champion, Brent Martin, returned to the executive team, inspiring a rejuvenated focus on the brand’s roots. This momentum helped the business navigate a massive rebrand, including the launch of a new logo, website and e-commerce site. In a few short months, over 25 new styles have been introduced to the market, while retro bike races and sponsored events have filled Ryders’ calendar.
