NORTH VANCOUVER, Canada (March 18, 2009) – Looking to bring a heavy dose of outdoor brand knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to Ryders Eyewear, new Brand Specialist Chris Strome has his eyes fixed not only on building consumer awareness about the price conscious sunglass manufacturer, but keeping the 9-5 fun.
“One of my goals is to educate people about the benefits of Ryders Eyewear to their sporting performance, their fashion sense and their pocketbooks,†says Strome. “Ryders has realized for many years that as their passion for outdoor recreation increases, so does the passion for their products. And … they’re definitely stoked.â€
With their motto “Ride For Real,†Ryders Eyewear, producers of quality, wallet-friendly performance and lifestyle sunglasses, is just as adamant about the outdoors as they are about their lines of sunglasses. And Strome knows that.
“Ryders feels like an ideal fit for me,†says Strome. “The company is all about having fun and enjoying your time, in whatever sport you are participating. Whether I am wearing bike shoes, ski boots, running shoes or flip flops I try to fill my days with fun and play.â€
Tagged with the tasks of building brand awareness through everything from consumer relations to events, Strome brings more than a decade of industry experience to Ryders Eyewear. Before settling in at Ryders Eyewear, Strome was the marketing manager at G3 Genuine Gear Guide Inc, communications officer at Whistler Blackcomb Mountains Resorts and public relations assistant for Disabled Sports USA – to name a few. With an infectious enjoyment of the outdoors, Strome also was an adaptive ski/wilderness course instructor at the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center and tour leader for ETR Tours in Switzerland.
â€I look forward to building on the foundation created in the past to push Ryders to its position as a market leader in human powered sports,†says Strome. “How do I do this? With years of marketing and public relations experience, a passion for outdoor activities and an easy-going disposition.â€
