CARBONDALE, Colorado – January 23, 2018

CARBONDALE, Colorado (Jan. 23, 2018) – rygr, an integrated marketing agency for active lifestyle brands, appoints Greg Fitzsimmons to the position of associate PR director. Additionally, rygr is happy to announce the promotion of Emily Banks to account manager, as well as the additions of Brian Smith and Madeline Fones to its Carbondale, Colorado-based team.

Fitzsimmons joined rygr in January 2017 and immediately made an impact, bringing with him a keen editorial ear and experience in client management from the destination marketing space. In his new role, Fitzsimmons will continue to lead the Fjällräven, KEEN Footwear and KEEN Kids teams, as well as act as an advisor to the entire account management staff at rygr.

“I cannot overstate the importance of Greg’s contributions to our growing team at rygr,” says Brian Holcombe, rygr principal. “With his client-first approach, and combination of strategic insight and hard work in the trenches, Greg sets an example for the rest of the agency on a daily basis. As a regular beneficiary of our company powder day policy and the winner of our inaugural physical fitness challenge, Greg also sets the standard for company culture, which is of vital importance in a young company.”

Since joining rygr, Fitzsimmons has overseen cornerstone clients, and played an important role in growing the agency’s roster of brand partners, with the additions of Tender Corporation, Primus, Brunton, HELI, and KEEN Kids since December 1, 2017. He can be reached at greg.fitzsimmons@rygr.us.

rygr is also proud to announce the promotion of Emily Banks to account manager. The agency’s first hire, in 2016, Banks has evolved her marketing skillset while supporting key clients across the agency. In her new role, Banks is responsible for the management of the Salomon footwear, apparel and gear, Suunto, and Primus accounts. She can be reached at emily.banks@rygr.us.

Finally, rygr announces the additions of Brian Smith and Madeline Fones to its team. Smith joins rygr as an account manager, leading the Tender Corporation account. Tender Corporation’s portfolio of brands includes AfterBite® and Adventure Medical Kits®. Prior to joining rygr, Smith served as mountain bike editor at REI’s Co-op Journal, as well as the editorial and partnerships manager at Adventure Projects.

Smith will relocate from Boulder, Colorado, to the Roaring Fork Valley with his partner, Sallie, and their dog, Zion. He can be reached at brian.smith@rygr.us.

Madeline Fones joined rygr in December 2017 as account coordinator, supporting the KEEN Kids and Brunton accounts. A St. Lawrence University graduate and champion ski mountaineer and trail runner, Fones previously served as operations manager for a well-regarded Aspen, Colorado-based guiding service. She can be reached at madeline.fones@rygr.us.

“As we approach our third year at rygr, I am proud of the skilled, diverse team we’ve assembled, as well as the innovative, best-in-class brands with whom we’ve had the opportunity to partner,” says Holcombe. “With a growing team of interdisciplinary marketers, rygr is well positioned to continue our growth into 2018, and I’ve never been more excited for what the future holds.”
