Silver Steep Partners, one of the leading investment banking firms catering exclusively to companies in the outdoor and active lifestyle industry, today appointed Sally McCoy, recently named president and CEO of CamelBak, as chairman of its advisory board.
Prior to her recent appointment to CamelBak, McCoy co-founded Silver Steep Partners with Nathan Pund. Prior to Silver Steep, McCoy served as president of Sierra Designs and Ultimate Direction and as vice president at The North Face. She has over twenty years of outdoor industry experience and was the recipient of the Outdoor Industry Leadership Award.
McCoy will continue to play an ongoing role with Silver Steep Partners, where she will serve with existing board members Mountain Hardwear’s Founder Jack Gilbert and Black Diamond’s Peter Metcalf in guiding the firm as it continues to offer financial and strategic advice to its clients.
“This is terrific opportunity for Sally, and a logical next step to the consulting work completed by Silver Steep Partners on behalf of CamelBak earlier this year,†said Pund. “She brings years of operating experience from two industry giants and, combined with the expertise she gained at Silver Steep, which enabled her to look at industry opportunities from a fresh perspective, we are confident she will guide CamelBak with the same integrity and wisdom that she has exercised in her work with Silver Steep. “
Stated McCoy, “I am proud of the work that we have accomplished at Silver Steep and am confident that the firm will continue to offer sophisticated advisory services and serve as a meaningful part of the industry and its development. I look forward to being able to serve on the board of advisors. I also appreciate the opportunity to lead CamelBak, one of the great and truly innovative brands in the industry.â€
In addition, Silver Steep is proud to announce the addition of a fourth member to the advisory board, Daniel Blatt. Blatt, who currently serves as vice president of business development for Capital Guidance, a private equity firm based in Paris and Washington D.C., brings years of experience both as a dealmaker and as an advisor to some of the world’s leading consumer brands. Previously, Blatt spent six years as an investment banker with Dillon, Read & Co. and UBS in New York and London advising on a number of corporate finance matters for global industry leaders in the consumer goods sector. Mr. Blatt holds a dual MBA/MA from The Wharton School and the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in economics and a minor in German from Bates College.
“I look forward to contributing to an already well established and experienced team of professionals where I hope my global perspective and unique mix of private equity and investment banking experience will provide additional financial expertise,†said Blatt.
