Salomon appoints Guillaume Meyzenq VP of Footwear

ANNECY, France (Jan. 16, 2017) — Salomon President Jean-Marc Pambet announces the appointment of Guillaume Meyzenq as Vice President of the company’s Footwear category. Meyzenq, who has been an employee at Salomon since 1994, was previously in the role of Vice President of Commercial Footwear. In his new position, he will support Pambet, who serves a double role as President of Salomon and President of Footwear for Amer Sports, the parent company of Salomon.

“Guillaume has delivered strong contributions to Footwear projects during the past eight years, gathering the required competencies and leadership to take on this new responsibility,” says Pambet. “He has multicultural and business experience, he has managed product creation, and he has expertise in commercial activities.”

Meyzenq will now be responsible for Innovation, Product Marketing, Design, Development, Sourcing, Sales & Operation Planning, and Commercial for the Salomon Footwear category.

“I’m thrilled to take on this expanded role as Vice President of Footwear for the Salomon brand,” says Meyzenq. “Since starting my career at Salomon in 1994, I have been privileged to be a part of the evolution of the brand and of the Footwear category in particular. I look forward to leading our passionate and experienced Footwear team as we continue to grow our trail running leadership position, expand into road running, and evolve our pioneering hiking and mountaineering range. Our goal is to continue to introduce new innovations and consumer experiences.”

Since 2009, the Salomon brand has doubled its total sales to 800 million Euros, with footwear representing 55 percent of that business. The Salomon footwear team of designers works closely with a team of world-class athletes across multiple athletic pursuits to produce shoes that withstand the rigors of the most extreme conditions in outdoor sports. Those design principles are then integrated into performance footwear used by everyone from competitive professionals to weekend athletes who delight in a trail run near home or a casual hike with friends.

Salomon and the Amer Sports Footwear Category are the largest business contributors to Amer Sports, whose portfolio of brands also includes Wilson, Arc’teryx, Atomic, Mavic, Suunto, Precor, DeMarini, Louisville Slugger, and Enve.

A replacement for Meyzenq’s Commercial role will be named in the near future.
