SCARBOROUGH, ME (April 3, 2020) — Sanita, a footwear brand specializing in professional clogs, will be donating a portion of every purchase in April to support the medical providers and hospitality workers who are the backbone of their business.

Starting today, through the end of April, Sanita will be donating $10 from every pair of shoes sold on sanita.com, as well as $5 for every new signup to their email list. These proceeds will be split equally between #GetUsPPE and The James Beard Foundation. #GetUsPPE aids in providing personal protective equipment to medical workers on the front lines, and the James Beard Foundation is raising funds to support chefs and restaurant owners hard hit by the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We realized that the majority of Sanita customers, those working in hospitality and those on the medical front lines, were being significantly affected by the current COVID-19 crisis and its economic implications,” said Matt Tracy, company president. “We hope to be able to support those who have supported us over the years.”

About Sanita

Handcrafted in Europe since 1907, Sanita clogs have been supporting generations of professionals. Over a century ago, Christen Meldgaard Andersen opened a shoe shop in Herning, Denmark, where he made the first pairs of Sanita clogs for local masons, farmers, and bakers. Today, Sanita continue our strong European workwear tradition and design our clogs in our native Denmark and handcraft them in their factory in Poland.
