Sanita, the original, handcrafted Danish clog, is pleased to announce that their footwear is now available with stunning, hand painted designs on TheSwanx.com.

Sanita has a rich history in traditional craftsmanship, making clogs the old fashioned way in Denmark for over 100 years. Now customers, can enjoy Sanita’s three most popular styles, the closed back clog, the open back clog and the mary jane, in a variety of hand painted motifs to suit their individual style. Close to 100 unique designs are available on line and new designs are available weekly. Only 48 of each design are ever painted, making them limited edition works of wearable art. In addition, customers looking for a custom design are invited to work with The Swanx artistic design director to create their unique design.

The idea of hand painting Sanita clogs came from Shawna, a nurse in the Seattle/Tacoma area, who always enjoyed the colorful scrubs available and thought her plain black clogs needed something more. She and her husband, Curtis, now work with 15 local artists to create the hand painted designs sold exclusively at TheSwanx.com. The unique designs attract women from across the globe and from all walks of life, looking for something individual in this era of mass production.

“We have worked hard to develop the right formula for our collection – the perfect paint, the proper sealer, the most beautiful design,” says Curtis Johnson, owner of The Swanx. “But one thing that never was in question was our canvas. We choose Sanita, the original clog. You can’t beat hand craftsmanship and over 100 years experience.”
