Sarah Courtney Named MSR® Category Manager for Snowshoes and Winter Tools

SEATTLE, WA (March 9, 2016) — MSR® (Mountain Safety Research), the Seattle-based high-performance outdoor equipment brand, is pleased to announce Sarah Courtney as the category manager for the brand’s snowshoe and alpine tool division.

Courtney, previously employed by MSR, has returned to Seattle to take on a new leadership role. In her position, Courtney will manage global development of snowshoes and winter tool products while working in conjunction with the MSR team on marketing strategy, manufacturing and sales of the line. She will lead cross-functional teams to ensure further growth and continued innovation in the already well-respected category.
“We are very excited for Sarah’s return to MSR,” said Chris Parkhurst, vice president of MSR. “Her years of experience in the engineering, project management and development departments are invaluable to a category that requires both the knowledge of safety and recreation.”
Courtney most recently held the position of global supplier manager for surface power systems equipment for Schlumberger in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, Courtney spent two years with the Peace Corps in Queretaro working on technology transfer projects and received her Master’s degree in Supply Chain from MIT. Outside of work Courtney enjoys backcountry skiing, biking, hiking, climbing, sailing, and an assortment of other activities.
