LEXINGTON, MA (July 2, 2012) – Global performance running footwear and apparel brand Saucony, Inc. today announced that now two-time Olympian and “Team Saucony†athlete Wallace Spearmon soared to victory in the finals of the men’s 200-meter dash at the U.S. Track and Field Trials at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on Sunday night. In a time of 19.82 seconds, Spearmon, undefeated this year in the 200, seized the win and his chance for redemption in London after a lane violation deprived him of the bronze medal in Beijing in 2008. “The Trials were a proving ground for both our athletes and innovations, and we stood up to the test,†said Richie Woodworth, president of Saucony. “It was an incredible win for the brand, bringing the ‘Find Your Strong’ story to life through our powerful athletes while inspiring runners everywhere. Our technologies delivered at the elite level of performance that our athletes expect, and their achievements bore this out. We salute every athlete who toed the line in Eugene, especially our own ‘Team Saucony,’ whose accomplishments clearly strengthen our position as one of the leading performance running brands in the world,†added Woodworth.
