Saucony® Celebrates 40 Years of the Jazz with Limited-Edition Icon Pack

The Endorphin Collection, Kinvara 12, and Peregrine 11 take on the Original look of speed

WALTHAM, MA (Feb. 16, 2021) – With its award-winning build and low-key vibe, the Saucony Jazz became an instant classic when it debuted in 1981. Now, global performance running lifestyle brand Saucony celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Jazz with the launch of the all-new Icon Pack. The perfect bridge between performance and lifestyle, the Icon Pack features a current lineup of the brand’s fastest running shoes, the Endorphin Collection, the Kinvara 12, and the Peregrine 11, all redesigned in the image of a true Saucony Original. From classic design lines to the signature colorways and Originals logo, the Icon Pack is the perfect fusion of heritage style and advanced performance innovation. The limited-edition Icon Pack is now available at saucony.com and select running specialty retailers globally.

“You only turn 40 once and we need to celebrate and invite a few friends to the party,” said Shawn Hoy, Saucony’s senior vice president of global product and innovation. “In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Jazz, our Performance and Originals product teams collaborated closely to interpret the Jazz’s now-classic design for each of the five current running models in the pack. We’ve redesigned our fastest tech models in its image, mixing the Jazz’s signature style with our latest technologies to deliver the Original look of speed. This distinct symbol of where we’ve been and where we’re going allows us to keep one eye on our storied past and the other on the future with our foot firmly planted on the gas.”

About the Jazz Original

Crafted 40 years ago, the Saucony Jazz Original is a legacy runner and style icon. An evolutionary step

for running shoes in 1981 and a global symbol of comfort and class, the Jazz paved the way for some of Saucony’s breakthrough running franchises and modern icons.

About the Icon Pack

The clean design and trustworthy performance of the Jazz lends a free-spirited expression to this fast lineup of high-performance shoes. With Jazz-inspired iterations of the Endorphin Collection, Kinvara 12, and Peregrine 11, the need for speed is represented from road to trail.

  • Navy and Silver: The glory days of the Jazz are best embodied in navy and silver. With its navy upper and silver River logo, the signature Jazz color notes resonate throughout the Icon Pack.
  • “Running Man” Logo: The accelerated pace of the collection is reflected in a slightly modified “Running Man” graphic placed on the woven-tongue label, signifying the Icon Pack’s crossover appeal in being heritage-inspired and performance drive.
  • Saucony Originals Heel Tab: Four of the five shoes in the pack, the Endorphin Pro, Endorphin Speed, Endorphin Shift and Peregrine 11, contain the Jazz’s signature silver heel tab with the familiar Saucony wordmark. To honor the brand’s commitment to performance, the silver badge was consciously omitted from the Kinvara 12 in order to preserve the shoe’s engineered heel technology.
