Sevelen, August 2011: What do construction workers, police officers and postal workers are often in their workwear all day, exposed to all kinds of conditions. To ensure these people feel good, are ideally protected and look sharp in their working environments, Schoeller Switzerland is concentrating efforts on their special requirements in its schoeller®-works product line. Among other highlights, the new energearTM technology, which provides the body with added energy as well as a highly-technical modular 7-layer functional clothing system, are being presented by Schoeller at Outdoor Retailer at booth #39051

schoeller®-works, a division of Schoeller Switzerland, focuses on the specific requirements of workwear. A specialized professional team within the world’s most innovative textile company has developed individual solutions with added safety, esprit and service. The result is the exciting schoeller®-works product line, which offers an optimum combination of highly functional fabrics and textile technologies for uniforms, fashionable corporate wear and workwear. Customer-specific solutions, such as for fire departments, technical emergency response units, military use and industry, are a focus of schoeller®-works.

Many years of stretch fabric expertise and the most modern textile technologies
Thanks to many years of Schoeller experience in the areas of protective fabrics for active wear, motorcycling and extreme sports, as well as a unique level of proficiency in manufacturing bi-elastic and crosswise elastic stretch fabrics, maximum clothing comfort remains a matter of course. The fashionable function fabrics are produced with the highest quality materials and many of them can easily be washed at up to 60 °C.
Upgraded with finishing technologies such as energearTM (energy recovery system), 3XDRY® (moisture management), NanoSphere® (water and dirt repellence), schoeller®-PCMTM (active temperature regulation), coldblack® (UV and heat protection) or the bionic climate membrane c_changeTM (wind and waterproof), they all guarantee the highest functionality, durability, long service life and ease of care.

Tested according to EN norms and sustainably produced
schoeller®-works textiles conform to the major norms for workwear and in some cases vastly exceed the statutory stipulations. Therefore, Schoeller is a reliable, competent partner for any garment manufacturer who, when the fabric is processed accordingly in his garments, will undoubtedly pass the EN test while also providing protection and ensuring highest performance capabilities at work, even under extreme conditions.
The majority of the fabrics in the schoeller®-works collection conform to bluesign®, the world’s strictest ecological standard for textiles. Due to the extremely long life cycle of Schoeller textiles, less strain is placed on the environment. Moreover, Schoeller fabric finishes that are water and dirt repellent require less frequent and lower temperature laundering.

Innovative fabrics and technologies for workwear by Schoeller Switzerland
Schoeller Switzerland

Schoeller Textil AG is a Swiss-based company that operates internationally. It specializes in the development and manufacture of functional fabrics and textile technologies for the areas of active sports, fashion and work. Schoeller has many years of expertise and manufactures in compliance with the bluesign® standard. Optimum quality is always top priority. In the development of schoeller®-works fabrics, the entire production chain undergoes stringent inspection – from raw materials to finished products. In cooperation with universities and research institutes, complex customer-specific and sector-specific solutions are developed and implemented – e.g. for the military, for fire departments and for industrial use.

Textiles and technologies are subjected to strict laboratory and practice tests, which are carried out directly or by independent test institutes such as the Swiss Federal Laboratories either for Material Science and Technology (EMPA) St. Gallen, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich or the Textile Research Institute in Saxony, the Sächsische Textilforschungsinstitut. Articles with EN-Norm labels have been examined for EN compliance.

bluesign®

Schoeller produces in accordance with the bluesign® standard, the world’s strictest production standard in regards to EHS requirements (Environment, Health and Safety), and was centrally involved in its development. Schoeller’s aim is to develop innovative textiles and textile technologies that reflect the “Best Available Technology” and are sustainable. Each new Schoeller development begins with the question, “Does this conform to the bluesign®-standard?” For finishing technologies based on chemical products, the bluesign® standard offers reliable safety for producers and consumers. The bluesign® standard guarantees the greatest possible freedom from harmful substances and the most efficient use of resources throughout the entire textile chain. Only those components are acceptable which are not harmful to humans or the environment and which do not waste our valuable resources.
