Science in Sport Hires General Manager for North American Growth & Development

February 2017: Sports nutrition leader Science in Sport has hired a General Manager in line with its expansion strategy in the United States. Sales and product management veteran Tonya Wearner has been tasked with leading Science in Sport’s US expansion in 2017, and will play a vital role in developing the UK brand’s growth in one of its key international markets.
Based in San Diego, California, Wearner will be responsible for building revenue from Science in Sport’s direct e-commerce platform, and through third party online retailers. She will also develop and implement multimedia marketing and athlete acquisition strategies, establish domestic third-party logistic services while ensuring that Science in Sport’s leading customer care continues to be a brand hallmark on US shores.
Wearner has more than 16 years of sales and marketing experience working with established consumer brands and has a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and profitability. Prior to joining SiS, she ran her own business consultancy, advising companies on brand licensing, retail market expansion and product management.
