Salt Lake City, Utah Outdoor Retailer Winter Market Booth 5042, January 27, 2007 – Sea to Summit USA, the new U.S. distributor of Stick Protection Technology (SPT) products, the Australian brand that is developing the future of water and snow sports hardware, introduces a unique system that combines tie-down straps with an integrated keyed locking system to protect your gear from theft. Originally designed by a team of serious Australian surfers to transport and secure their boards from theft, the SPT Lockable Tie Downs work with any paddling/watersport, snow or cycle gear.
The only locking strap that won’t damage gear while it secures from theft
Simple and easy to use, SPT Lockable Tie Downs are designed to secure kayaks, boats, canoes, snowboards, skis, mountain bikes, road bikes or anything you want to attach to your vehicle and keep safe from theft. These features make it unique:
•Two hardened stainless steel cables inside 33mm U.V stabilized webbing. Like a conventional strap with bomb-proof cables inside, SPT Lockable Tie Downs are virtually impossible to cut yet evenly distribute synch tension to avoid creasing or damaging fiberglass edges of boats, shells or boards.
• Soft Santoprene protective casing protects from moisture and corrosion
• Locked or unlocked, extra-strength die cast buckle functions as a simple tie-down strap.
• The weather resistant key lock with dust shutter is streamlined and easy to access.
• Sold in pairs, SPT offers three sizes to accommodate nearly any sport: 5 foot, 8 foot and 13 foot sold at $64.95, $74.95 and $84.95 MSRP.
SPT Lockable Tie Downs work with any vehicle roof rack system, cargo racks on campers, RVs, trailers or any fixed object that you might use to secure your gear at home (columns or posts on a porch or patio) if you don’t have room to store your toys indoors.
Distributing one locking tie-down system…so you can spend your money on gear instead!
Sea to Summit USA is the only distributor of SPT gear in the United States. “Our market research showed us that there were plenty of tie-down systems available and numerous anti-theft locking systems, but no really good solution for both functions to be found in a single product. Their features keep it simple: we found that SPT’s straps and key lock system are streamlined rather than cumbersome. They offer water, snow, and cycle sport enthusiasts peace of mind that their gear is locked and safe from theft while protected from damage during transport. It’s a tie-down system that goes everywhere you and all of your outdoor toys travel—and keeps them secure,†said Shelley Dunbar, co-owner of Sea to Summit USA.
