Santa Barbara, CA – December 15, 2015 –SeaVees, a heritage footwear brand inspired by the coastal style of 1960s California, announced today a donation of 350 pairs of shoes to San Francisco’s At The Crossroads. The mission of At The Crossroads is to reach out to homeless youth and young adults at their point of need, and work with them to build healthy and fulfilling lives. At The Crossroads’ innovative model focuses on young people who do not have access to traditional services and who are disconnected from any type of consistent support. With winter approaching and the holiday season upon us, this donation from SeaVees comes at a critical time for At The Crossroads’ clients.
“Because of the generous donation from SeaVees, hundreds of our clients will have the chance to pick out a great pair of shoes, just in time for the cold weather season,” said Rob Gitin, Executive Director of At The Crossroads. “We want our clients to feel like they deserve great things in life, and giving them awesome shoes is an easy way to accomplish this. We are so grateful for SeeVees for this amazing gift.”
At The Crossroads’ goal is to help their clients build outstanding lives, not just lives of subsistence. Through a combination of nighttime street outreach and one-on-one counseling, At The Crossroads removes common barriers to service by bringing counselors onto the streets and shaping support services around the needs of each individual client. At The Crossroads partners and advocates for their clients to make sure that there is an accessible, culturally competent continuum of care that will provide these individuals with the opportunities to realize their dreams.
“We know that high quality, durable shoes are one of the greatest needs for people living on the streets, and we’re thrilled we could help fill the need for many of San Francisco’s homeless youth this holiday season. Our assortment for At The Crossroads included everything from boots and chukkas to slip-ons and sneakers. We hope the kids will enjoy choosing a style that’s best for their own individual needs. We aim to put smiles on their faces and comfort on their feet.”
About At The Crossroads
At The Crossroads (www.atthecrossroads.org) reaches out to homeless youth and young adults in San Francisco at their point of need, and works with them to build healthy and fulfilling lives. Since 1998, ATC has been walking the streets of the Mission and Downtown San Francisco at nighttime, bringing help to our clients, rather than making them come to us. We help our clients with anything and everything they need, providing unconditional support for as long as they need to build the lives they want. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. We remove common barriers to service by bringing our counselors onto the streets, and shaping our support services around the needs of each individual client. Our goal is to help our clients build outstanding lives, not just lives of subsistence.
