Senator Al Franken (D-MN) visited Granite Gear’s headquarters in Two Harbors, Minnesota on Saturday, 2/23. Thirty staff members and their family greeted the Senator. He toured the facility and met with Granite Gear founders Jeff Knight and Dan Cruikshank to discuss changes in military spending in the future and how this might relate to Granite Gear’s growing tactical products business.
Also discussed were the challenges of operating a business in an area without viable high speed internet service.
“We greatly appreciate Senator Franken’s interest in our business and the insight he provided” noted Jeff Knight. Partner Dan Cruikshank added, “He really understands and appreciates the contribution small businesses make to our economy”.
