WASHINGTON, DC., The Athlete’s Foot, a global leader in athletic footwear franchising, announced today that it will hold its Global Franchise Convention at SGMA Spring Market (June 11-13; Sands Expo and Convention Center; Las Vegas, Nevada). Hundreds of franchise owners from all over the world will join thousands of sporting goods and fitness industry retailers and team dealers at this premier event.

“The SGMA Spring Market is widely recognized as one of the finest opportunities to experience the best in innovation in the sporting goods industry, and The Athlete’s Foot identified Spring Market as a perfect backdrop for bringing together our global network of retailers to share our vision for the future of the brand,” commented Robert D’Loren, President and CEO of NexCen Brands, Inc., parent company to The Athlete’s Foot. “As a leading-edge global retailer, The Athlete’s Foot is excited to explore new and innovative retailing practices that showcase our commitment to the continued success of this brand,” he added.

SGMA Spring Market is the only industry event at which retailers in the sporting goods and fitness markets can get hands-on access to new products from hundreds of the industry’s leading performance brands under one roof.

Hundreds of The Athlete’s Foot franchise owners from around the world are anticipated to attend the company’s event at the Venetian Hotel. The conference schedule, which includes presentations on innovative new marketing efforts for The Athlete’s Foot brand, will also allow franchise owners ample time to walk the SGMA show floor to evaluate new products for their store locations and network with other industry leaders.

“We’re excited that The Athlete’s Foot has chosen SGMA Spring Market for the site of its Global Franchise Convention,” commented SGMA President Tom Cove. “This is really what SGMA Spring Market is all about — a community of retailers and manufacturers networking, learning, and previewing cutting edge new products for the end customer.”

The Athlete’s Foot is also a featured exhibitor at the SGMA show. For the first year, the company will have a booth on the show floor and will host a private VIP lounge where franchise owners can host meetings with exhibiting manufacturers.
