WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 24, 2007 – If you want an accurate profile of today’s sports and fitness participants, then you should order SGMA’s Single-Sport Participation Studies. Right now, 22 sports participation reports are available online at www.SGMA.com. Each report contains statistical charts, key information on historical participation trends, gender profiles, and a special section called ‘Quickfacts.’ In addition, these reports will reveal demographic data on the geographic location of today’s athlete, their average age, participation venue, and household income. This is the fourth straight year that this research has been made available by SGMA.
SGMA’s Single Sport Participation Studies contain information not found in SGMA’s Sports & Fitness Participation Report. For instance, there is a narrative overview; charts showing historical trends; and data on geographic regions, featuring a map of the U.S.
The 22 sports/fitness activities now available for download at www.SGMA.com are:
low impact aerobics, aquatic exercise, baseball, basketball, BMX bicycling, billiards/pool, bowling, ice hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, paintball, Pilates training, running/jogging, soccer (indoor), soccer (outdoor), fast-pitch softball, slow-pitch softball, swimming for fitness/competition, treadmills, beach/sand volleyball, court volleyball, and yoga/tai chi
Reports can also be ordered on the other 60+ sports and activities which are listed in SGMA’s 2007 Sports & Fitness Participation Report — on a case-by-case basis. Those other sports and activities range from fitness pursuits like elliptical machines to water sports such as snorkeling to team sports like touch football to individual sports like inline skating. This “special order†research will take three business days to complete and can be ordered through www.SGMA.com.
For SGMA full and associate members, the reports are $95. For non-members, the reports will be $125. They are available in the Adobe PDF format. A sample report can be downloaded at www.SGMA.com — click on Insight, click on Participation Reports, click on Single Sport, and then click on any sport study in the list.
