Sherpani Launches Women-Specific, Environmentally Friendly Luggage

BOULDER, Colo. (July 21, 2008) — Sherpani, creators of a full line of urban, outdoor, professional and mom’s bags designed exclusively for women who want to bring some style to their urban and outdoor adventures, will launch a new luggage collection for 2008-2009 at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Booth #40173.

Sherpani’s foray into the travel industry was done with consideration for the unique requirements of women travelers as well as a desire to create a collection that is stylish, lightweight and environmentally friendly. The line will be unveiled at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The line is eco-friendly with 67 percent recycled fabrics, non-toxic dyes, recycled aluminum and high-quality components like urethane wheels. The bags are lightweight, include extensive internal and external organizational pockets and are available in a variety of feminine colors, including black, rhubarb, palm and sea mist, all lined with Sherpani’s trademark floral design.

“Five years ago, Sherpani brought fresh new colors, trims and styles to the outdoor bag market. Today, some of our signature features – like floral linings – are a standard,” said Ed Ruzic, president of Sherpani. “With this new collection, I believe we’ve brought the same fresh energy to the luggage category, and the timing is perfect.”

The luggage collection can take care of any travel need with a 22-inch rolling carry-on, a 25-inch rolling suitcase, a rolling briefcase/laptop carrier, a carry-on sized duffle, a cosmetic bag and a coordinating carry-on that slips over the handle of the rollers.

Hemisphere (MSRP $249)
The 25-inch Hemisphere can expand 360 degrees and has plenty of internal organizational pockets to keep everything for a long vacation in its place. The rolling suitcase features front pockets, a shoe pocket and a large internal mesh divider and elastic belt to keep neatly folded clothing looking crisp after a long day of travel. At 25 inches by 16 inches by 11 inches, the Hemisphere is a perfect carry-all suitcase.

Meridian (MSRP $199)
The Hemisphere’s smaller counterpart, the 22-inch Meridian rolling suitcase, can be expanded with a 360-degree zipper and checked or taken, unexpanded, as a carry-on. Like the Hemisphere, it features urethane wheels, front pockets, shoe pockets, an internal mesh divider and more.

Flite (MSRP $129)
This rolling laptop bag takes the hassle out of business travel. With a protective laptop compartment, large internal compartment for work papers or even clothes for a weekend trip and plenty of internal and external organizational pockets, this rolling briefcase will quickly become a travel essential.

Jetta (MSRP $99)
Perfect as a carry on or for a road trip, the Jetta duffle bag coordinates with the rest of the Luggage Collection as an extra essential piece. Like all Sherpani bags, its straps are comfortable and the bag itself is lightweight. This 14-inch-by-19-inch-by-11-inch bag is the perfect size for a long weekend away.

Sojourn (MSRP $69)
This carry-on tote coordinates with the rest of the collection and can slide over the handles of the 22- and 25-inch rolling suitcases. At 14.5 inches by 13.5 inches by five inches, it is roomy and features plenty of internal organizational pockets to keep airplane necessities in order, such as water bottle, magazine, book and miscellaneous compartments.

The Passage cosmetic bag fits all the essentials. It coordinates with the rest of the line and provides the same eco-friendly materials that won’t get ruined if toiletries spill or get tossed during travel.
