Shipping Container Hostel/Hotel in the Colorado Rockies Launches an Indiegogo Campaign

SILVERTHORNE, Colo — April 2021 — Starting on April 8, you can get the best pre-opening lodging rates and exclusive perks from The Pad, Colorado’s first newly constructed hostel located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, by supporting their Indiegogo campaign.

Set to open this summer The Pad is being constructed with 18 upcycled shipping containers and is currently a Pending B CorpTM and on track to becoming the state’s first Certified B CorpTM lodging property, which is the gold standard of sustainability in business.

The Pad isn’t just a hotel or just a hostel. It’s both. It’s a hybrid of a boutique hotel and an upscale hostel at a no-frills price without sacrificing the high-end amenities, including a rooftop deck with a hot tub, the million-dollar views of the Rocky Mountains, two bars, event space, gear storage, a coworking space and an on-site restaurant – all along the banks of the Blue River in the heart of the Colorado Rockies.

With a goal of raising $100,000, The Pad is inviting friends, family and adventurers who love to travel an opportunity to help fund the unique lodging concept through their exclusive Indiegogo perks and lodging specials such as discounted dorm room punch card, a year-long happy hour, a package that includes custom Folsom skis and a buyout of the entire property.

“Our goals for The Pad are to build a stronger community and to create the space to connect us to each other and to our environment,” say Rob and Lynne Baer, founders and developers of The Pad. “Crowdfunding through our Indiegogo campaign made sense for us. It allows us to invite our friends, family, supporters and anyone who believes in us to help us open The Pad after a tough year of construction during COVID. We are so close to completion, and need a little financial help to keep with our plans for our space. We want anyone who supports our Indiegogo campaign to feel good about backing The Pad since we are deeply rooted in the values of sustainability and community, not to mention they’ll get some incredible and exclusive perks that they can enjoy this summer”

The Pad is part of the Town of Silverthorne’s new downtown development and renaissance and the Baers hope it will be a catalyst for the continued economic prosperity of the area, serving as a community gathering spot for locals and local events as well as visitors to Summit County.
