Earlier this week, SnowSports Industries America (SIA) Members Dale of Norway, FERA, Helly Hansen, Killy, Krimson Klover, Obermeyer and SKEA lit up Aspen Fashion Week’s outdoor Snowstage with their 2012.13 lines in SIA’s Snow Collections runway show. Bright pop colors, shimmering metallics and beautiful details were apparent, but also technical fabrics and designs that perform in the most demanding winter conditions.
“Aspen Fashion Week embodied the close, and sometimes seamless, link between fashion, sport, and lifestyle. And what more perfect a location than Aspen, where outdoor activity and high style are one and the same. A great place for Fera to showcase our stylish, versatile collections,†said Eric Tung, president, Fera.
During Aspen Fashion Week, SIA also hosted an invite-only champagne media breakfast and mini-showroom giving SIA Members a chance to mingle with top journalists and discuss color/design inspirations, technical features and details behind their collections.
“Aspen Fashion Week was the perfect venue to showcase Killy’s new collection. The crowd was filled with ski fashionistas who value outerwear that performs well on the hill and looks stylish at the same time, which is what Killy strives for,†commented Maro LaBlance, marketing manager for Killy. “It was exciting to see the reaction from the crowd as our pieces made it down the runway and then have one-on-one time with media at breakfast the next day,†added LaBlance.
Aspen delivered perfect early spring mountain weather with deep blue skies and warm, sunny days during Aspen Fashion Week. Presenting sponsor, Bentley Motors, kicked off the event with local resident and professional freeskier, Ted Davenport, launching himself from a helicopter and parachuting over AFW’s Snowstage, landing in an adjacent park. During the four-day event, crowds of media and VIP guests test-drove Bentleys, party hopped throughout downtown Aspen and hit the slopes in-between line presentations and runway shows from designers ranging from rising stars to established luxury brands.
