Boulder, CO – Three products that were designed by Sid Factor Seven, the Boulder based product house, were recently featured in Outside magazine’s summer 2007 Buyer’s Guide. The Black Diamond RPM pack earned Gear of the Year honors for Best Everyday Pack while the Black Diamond Demon pack was chosen for the climbing goods section and the women’s Marmot Vogue tank was deemed a women’s climbing essential.
The Black Diamond RPM pack was chosen Best Everyday Pack because editors viewed it as a “showcase pack from the less is more school of design.†The sleek pack is lightweight and features a padded back panel and nicely cushioned shoulder straps. The smart, functional design also allows for easy access to compartments, includes tool attachments and shock cord that compresses smaller loads or allows for extra hauling capacity. It was called a “simple lightweight, do-anything hauler†by the Outside editors.
The Black Diamond Demon pack was featured as one of seven items that will make “climbing this year better than last.†Again, following both Black Diamond and Sid Factor Seven product philosophy, the pack is sleek and displays intelligent, innovative design features that provide performance and comfort, without the clutter of superfluous components and hardware. Outside editor’s called it a “sleek reincarnation of the classic, durable klettersack†and noted that it “easily fits a rope, a rack and all sundries.â€
In the women’s section of the buyer’s guide, the Marmot Vogue tank was chosen as a climbing essential. Sid Factor Seven worked directly with climber Beth Rodden and Marmot to design a progressive tank with a climber’s physique in mind. The tank was praised for its “flexy crisscross back for mobility and built-in shelf bra for support.â€
