A live charity auction of trail signs will raise funds for Big City Mountaineers and other causes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 10 in Sierra Design's new sustainable booth #25039.

Louisville, COLO. (July 28, 2006) — Sierra Designs, an authentic leader in developing innovative outdoor products including tents, sleeping bags and clothing today announced it will debut its brand, sustainability and philanthropic efforts at Outdoor Retailer’s Summer Market, August 10-13, 2006 at booth number 25039.

Sierra Designs will be hosting one of the first-ever live auctions with an authentic auctioneer, 15 handcrafted four-foot tall trail signs and outdoor gear, to raise funds for Big City Mountaineers, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Continental Divide Trail Alliance and the Colorado 14ers Initiative. The trail signs will be strategically placed and randomly roving throughout the OR show hall indoors and outdoors to represent authentic, passionate, experienced and fun images of the Sierra Designs brand. Signs will include such words as: “THE REAL DEAL” (placed near the Sierra Designs booth), “PREPARE TO UNLOAD” (placed near the restrooms), “IF YOU REST, YOU RUST” (placed near a bench), and “TAKE A HIKE” (placed near an exit) to name a few. All of the signs will be auctioned off along with Sierra Designs and other outdoor brand products to enhance the auction bidding.

Additionally, Sierra Designs uses green materials in its products whenever possible including: DAC Poles that offer the most environmentally friendly anodizing process; Cocona fabric which is a natural, coconut husk by-product; Moda Woven Shirts, made of natural beechwood chips and will be adding a Recycled Fleece Program this fall.
