Sierra Magazine’s 2nd Annual Wilderness Outdoor Weekend
Guided Outdoor Adventures, Product Demos, and Giveaways from Sierra Partners
SAN FRANCISCO — Sierra magazine, the official publication of the Sierra Club, is excited to announce its second annual outdoor event, Wilderness Outdoor Weekend. Driven by our mission to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet, this free event celebrates the beauty of the outdoors and is open to enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. On Saturday June 11, attendees will descend onto the Sierra’s Club’s Clair Tappaan Lodge, located on Donner Pass outside of Lake Tahoe, CA, which offers the perfect backdrop for the day’s activities — from guided hikes, yoga, and gear demos to rock climbing and paddling clinics.
Guests will also enjoy music by local musician Mark McCay-Moran, food, premium gift bags, celebrity meet & greet, and giveaways. Throughout the day, sponsors will be hosting demos, and participants will be able to test-out most products on their outdoor adventures.
On Sunday June 12, we will host a service-oriented trail maintenance program with lunch included. Sponsors and products include: LOWA boots, LEKI trekking poles & chairs, Sea Eagle kayaks + SUPs, Farm to Feet socks, If You Care household products, Yelp Sacramento, Sports Basement, Good to Go camping food, Biolite stoves, CampEats camping meals, The Camp Kit camping packs, GoodPeople apparel, Cha Fine Teas, Frey Vineyards wine, and Lagunitas Brewing.
“We want this weekend to be a fun, inspirational experience for all,” says Sierra Advertising Director Ben Warner. “We created this event to simply get more people outside using the Sierra Club’s incredible Clair Tappaan Lodge as our base camp and to demonstrate product and equipment from our generous partners that can help people explore and enjoy the outdoors.
