Silk Spins a New Technical Tale at Terramar
Tarrytown, N.Y. (December 14, 2015) In 1971 Terramar launched Thermasilk® as an alternative to the underperforming base layer fabrics of the day. The comfort and natural performance features made it an instant hit. While the Terramar line has expanded to include a variety of natural and synthetic products, Thermasilk® has remained a staple at many outdoor and ski shops with a select group of consumers remaining very loyal.
Terramar has now developed two new products that take silk to a whole new level. The company proudly introduces Merino Silk and Thermasilk® Luxe.
Merino Silk – The ideal blend of merino wool and silk, this product is engineered with a plaited knit construction that puts the silk against the skin for no-itch comfort. This “natural” combination provides superior breathability and anti-odor protection. It also features great fit and 4-way stretch for freedom of movement as a next-to-skin or mid-layer.
Details:55% merino wool/35% silk/9% nylon. Available in Women’s/Men’s ½ Zip tops and Women’s Tight/Men’s Pant bottoms. Easy care.
Thermasilk® Luxe – By using spun silk and spandex Terramar created a “beefier” more performance oriented version of Thermasilk®. It hugs your body with a luxurious feel and fully supports your every move. And the natural fibers breathe and offer anti-odor protection.
Details:95% Spun Silk/5% Spandex. Available in a Women’s V-neck top and tight.
