This September the Ski and Snowboard Mechanics Workshop will begin its 22nd season under faculty management. The schedule below covers two-day programs at 12 ski areas across the country.
On Day 1 the full-day course options will be: Binding Mechanics Basic, Binding Mechanics Advanced, or Rental Mechanics Update. The binding and rental courses are accredited by the major alpine binding suppliers.
On Day 2 the course options will be: a full-day Ski and Snowboard Tuning & Repair Workshop or a full-day Seminar for Rental and Service Center Managers and In-store Trainers.
The per-day-fee for all courses starts at $165 and increases as the date for the Workshop approaches–up to $250 for registration on the day of the event. To register, go to www.vermontskisafety.com

DAY 1
(Each course is an all-day event)
BMB-1ALPINE BINDINGS – Basic
Entry level binding mechanics. Hands-on training in the installation and inspection of major brands and the use and care of hand and power tools.
BMA-1ALPINE BINDINGS – Advanced
Mechanics certified by at least one supplier last season. Hands-on training in the installation, inspection, and troubleshooting of major brands.
RMU-1ALPINE RENTAL – Update
Rental technicians of all levels. Hands-on training in hand and power tools, binding installation, preseason, in-season, and post accident inspection, and dispatch procedures.
DAY 2

STR-2 SKI & SNOWBOARD TUNING AND REPAIR
Ski and Snowboard mechanics of all levels. Hands-on training in hand and machine techniques for sanding, base repairs, stone grinding, edge tuning, and waxing of skis and snowboards. Also, training in delamination, sidewall, edge, and major base repair.
RSC-2RENTAL / SERVICE MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEE TRAINING SEMINAR
Rental shop and service center owners and managers. A course in the organization and operation of rental and service facilities of all sizes. Includes pre-season, in-season and post accident inspection, maintenance, record keeping, boot sizing, ski maintenance, equipment storage and dispatch, evaluating shop efficiency, and in reorganizing layout and procedures to maximize efficiency. Also, how to organize and deliver in-shop employee training programs.
