Steamboat Springs, Colo, – SmartWool’s Spring 2010 collections are designed to maximize comfort and performance with a bevy of new fabrics complemented by all the benefits of the highest-grade SmartWool® fibers. An ideal year round fiber, SmartWool® fiber is a natural ventilator keeping you cool when it’s warm and warm when it’s cool.

SmartWool’s new Technical Knit Merino (T.K.M.) is our most innovative and smart sport fabric yet. Designed to improve the fit and structure of our cycling jerseys, T.K.M. melds style, innovation and all natural merino wool benefits. Our merino jerseys have all the structure and style of a synthetic garment with none of the stink; T.K.M. is the next generation of wool. The cool, lightweight feel of the fabric will make it hard to believe its merino. The T.K.M. cycling mesh fabric is strategically placed along the sides of the body and back of our jerseys. The mesh fabric adds to the body’s natural heating and cooling process by allowing more wind/air though to the body.

One versatile piece that uses T.K.M. for women is the Women’s Cottonwood Jersey. Complete with passive venting mesh panels, this jersey can be used for cycling or trail running. MSRP: $95

The Men’s Betasso Jersey also utilizes the T.K.M. mesh panels on the sides and under arms for venting and a more relaxed fit ideal for all day rides or runs. MSRP: $95

The other SmartWool® fabric that will debut in the spring sportstyle line for SmartWool is Casuwool. With Casuwool, a simple tee becomes something you can wear while hiking and then out on the town to meet friends. Casuwool is our softest and lightest merino wool fabric yet. Constructed with 17.5-micron merino yarn, this material is buttery soft next to the skin. So soft in fact it’s hard to believe its 100% Merino wool. And like all of our easy care garments it’s machine washable and dryable.

The biggest fabric news within our sock line is that we’ve added a new 200 pt. needle count Ultra Light cycling sock. With this new construction, there’s even less between you and your equipment. Not forgetting performance, the Ultra Light Cycling socks still offer 4-Degree fit system: so your feet can always be cradled, secure and breathe with strategic mesh zones so you can be more responsive out on the road.

We continue to refine and improve the fit of our SmartWool® fabric-lined, Italian designed chamois. Designed to maximize the comfort of the riding experience, the SmartWool® chamois is gender-specific to provide a snug fit while allowing freedom of movement. The all-natural SmartWool® lining on the foam core of the chamois offers unprecedented comfort through the inherent benefits of the merino wool fiber. Additionally, the seamless construction ensures protection from chafing on long rides. While the unique airflow design provides maximum ventilation. The 100% SmartWool® lining works naturally with the body to provide a level of moisture regulation and breathability that simply can’t be matched by today’s synthetic cycling shorts.

SmartWool Benefits
The new line is made of all-natural, itch-free SmartWool® Merino wool and provides all the performance attributes SmartWool enthusiasts have come to know and love. The Spring 2010 Collection goes beyond the performance attributes of its synthetic rivals to offer improved comfort with maximum breathability and superior thermoregulation, and best of all, thanks to the natural antimicrobial attributes of SmartWool® fiber, riders, hikers and loungers are stink-free mile after mile. In the usual SmartWool spirit of easy care, all items are machine washable and dryable.
