Hit the trail this spring with the new SmartWool Trail Collection, a technical apparel line engineered specifically for life on the trail, no matter where it may be. The Smartwool Trail Collection features smart trail-worthy details in fit and function while maximizing the benefits of Merino wool. The combination provides wearers extraordinary comfort no matter if it’s a quick lunchtime scramble or a multi-day backpacking trip.
“When we looked at the clothing options for life on the trail, we realized there were products gaps we could either fill with new products or enhance with our extraordinary fits and smart details, or by adding the benefits of Merino wool to the mix,†explained Sara Yoder, SmartWool Women’s apparel product line manager. “Without a doubt, this is our best Spring Collection yet and we are confident our consumers will love these products.â€
As avid outdoor enthusiasts, SmartWool designers love to be outside as much as those for whom they design clothes. The team understands what comfort means to the body in motion and what it means to simply being outside more often and longer. It’s this mountain connection that inspires the team to create products that deliver the comfort needed for a day spent outdoors. They achieve this through continual research and testing which led to unique fabric constructions that deliver extraordinary comfort through fit and function, while also maximizing the benefits of Merino wool next to skin.
Attention to smart product details and design is evident in this collection with features such as: strategically placed flatlock seams that reduce chafing while being backpack compatible, shoulder and side panel fabric increases durability for long distance backpacking, shoulder and side panels move seams away from pack straps and hips for increased comfort, dual fabric design enhances ventilation to help cool the core. The unique construction offers Eyelet Knit bodies for optimal breathability and ventilation, combined with strategically placed Merino Max jersey knit panels in high abrasion zones, drop tail bottom hems for optimal coverage. Easy access pockets keep essentials close at hand.
The new spring SmartWool Trail Collection does double duty, dealing with the body’s heat of exertion during activity, while fighting chills as the body cools at rest breaks. The Trail pieces exhibit smart designs maximizing Merino benefits for breathability, moisture manage, odor resistance while adding synthetics to improve dry time, stretch and shape retention. With multiple style options, finding the right piece for warm weather activity and preference is made easy. Women’s Trail pieces include: Cortina Tech Tank, Tech Tee, Hoody, Short, Skort and Capri. Men’s styles are: the Teller Tech Tee, Tech Zip and Hoody.
The thoughtful features of the men’s and women’s Trail tops include dual fabric design enhancing ventilation to help cool the core while shoulder and side panel fabric improves durability for longer distance outings and seams are away from pack straps and hips for increased comfort.
The Cortina Short, Skort and Capri easily make the transition from the backcountry to the urban trail with Women’s specific wide waistband for flattering modern fit and comfort, while a secure concealed pocket at the back conveniently keeps essentials.
