SmartWool Corporation, the Steamboat Springs, Colorado-based manufacturer of high-quality, versatile merino wool products is pleased to announce the recent hire of Molly Cuffe as the company’s new Communications Manager, effective immediately. The hire comes on the heels of an organizational restructuring that promoted previous Communications Manager, Gardner Flanigan, to Director of Marketing.

An integral part of the Marketing team, Cuffe’s responsibilities as Communications Manager include: internal and external corporate communications, media relations and general product PR.

Cuffe comes to SmartWool with more than a decade of communications experience in a variety of aspects, including public, media and community relations, and Internet marketing. Most recently, Cuffe was the Communications Director at Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) where she was a key member of the senior management team and the primary spokesperson for Colorado’s $2.6 billion ski industry. Prior to CSCUSA, Cuffe was Director of Communications for Heavenly Resort at Lake Tahoe, CA, where she was a part of the management team who propelled the resort through two record-breaking seasons.

“Molly demonstrates the skills necessary to further develop and represent the SmartWool® brand both internally and externally,” said Gardner Flanigan, Marketing Director at SmartWool. “Not only is she well respected throughout the ski industry and among the media, her passion for outdoor sports and the mountain lifestyle embodies the essence of the SmartWool® brand and culture,” he continued.

“As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I’ve been a believer in the SmartWool® brand as an industry-leader in Merino wool apparel for some time now,” Cuffe explained. “It’s exciting to be a part of such a dynamic and progressive team. I’m eager to help bring the message of SmartWool performance and sustainability to the world through new channels and creative programs.”
