Smooth Fitness hires new COO
Smooth Fitness, the world’s largest online provider of exercise equipment, today announced it has hired Marc Cerceo as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.

MT. LAUREL, NJ – Smooth Fitness, the world’s largest online provider of exercise equipment, today announced it has hired Marc Cerceo as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Cerceo most recently held the same position with Pat Croce and Company. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Philadelphia chapter of the American Red Cross.
Cerceo brings more than two decades of experience in finance, operations, start-ups and executive management, both in the private and non-profit sectors, to Smooth Fitness. As Chief Operating Officer, he will oversee the daily operations of a $20 million organization and manage a staff of 40.

Cerceo served as Chief Financial Officer from 1988 – 1991 of the American Red Cross in Philadelphia, where he directed all of the region’s financial systems and controls, involving annual revenues of $70 million and 900 employees throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.
Before joining the American Red Cross, Cerceo served as Director of Finance and Administration of the Cara Corporation, a privately-held, $3.5 million computer service organization with sixty-four employees. As Controller for the Aztech Corporation, he oversaw the financial and administrative aspects of a privately-owned computer services organization. Prior to that, he was employed as Corporate Accountant for the Washington Post Company and as Senior Accountant for the Cigna Corporation.
Cerceo has taught at Temple University and Drexel University, and he was selected as Financial Manager of the Year in 1998 by the Institute of Management Accountants.
Cerceo holds an MBA from Drexel University and a B.S. in accounting from Villanova. An avid golfer, fitness enthusiast, and softball coach, he lives with his wife and two children in Medford, New Jersey.
