Snowboard retail buying decisions are made easier with snowboard-specific resources from SnowSports Industries America (SIA), the snow sports industry’s member-owned, not-for-profit trade association, developed to support buyers heading to the annual SIA Snow Show, January 30-February 2, 2014 and the On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest at Copper Mountain Resort (Feb. 3-4).

“The snowboard community at the Show draws buyers from all over the country, making it a singular business opportunity,” said Sasha Dietschi-Cooper, SIA board member and BurtonSnowboards senior vice president of sales, North America. “This is the best place for us and all snowboard brands to connect with buyers from across North America, and arguably the best place for buyers to get their finger on the pulse of all things snowboard.”
To navigate the numerous snowboard opportunities at the SIA Snow Show, which represents 98 percent of the snowboard supplier market meeting the needs of 7.4M snowboard participants, buyers need SIA’s curated snowboard resources. The videos, event listings, trend summaries and stats here will help with purchasing decisions, reviewing the more than 950 models of snowboards on the market, and assessing how to effectively reach the youth snowboard participants under 17, a segment that grew by 4 percent or 2.1M in the 12/13 season.
SIA’s videos set the stage for the state of snowboard by strategically examining the category’s past and future. The recently released Snowboard State of the Industry video helps buyers and suppliers alike have a solid understanding of snowboard market performance heading into the SIA Snow Show at http://vimeo.com/76289182
“The SIA Snow Show gives me the opportunity to look for brands and products that bring excitement back to snowboarding—not just through technology, but through personal experiences that create a demand in the consumer to get out and snowboard,” said Todd Wakeling, divisional merchandise manager, Active Ride Shop in Mira Loma, Calif.
Reviewing the national and regional trends in the Curated View of Snowboard provided on SIAsnowshow.com will help buyers prepare for the 2014 SIA Snow Show, with a visual overview of what’s selling and what you need to know about the average snowboard participant.
