Auburn, NH—Fischer Sports Announces that Jonathan Jay, former Senior Editor for SKI Magazine will be taking on the new role as Fischer’s Content Marketing Manager for the US. Jay has made a name for himself over the last six years as a leading voice in the ski industry and his new position with the Austrian ski company will allow Fischer to grow their presence both on the web and on the snow through expanded storytelling and content generation opportunities.
“I am so excited to work for Fischer as the Content Marketing Manager. As the brand approaches its 100th anniversary as the largest independently-owned ski company in the world, it has laid a solid foundation for success going forward. At the same time, the current skis and boots are the best products the brand has ever made. The future is very bright for the Fischer Brand as a whole,” Jay says about the brand’s notable history and its continued excellence in developing top end ski equipment.
Through the nature of Jay’s work at SKI Magazine, he brings an already robust understanding and passion for the Fischer Ski lineup. “As the four-time director of SKI Magazine’s annual SKI Test, Boot Test, and Backcountry Test, I was able to ski on every product currently available at nearly every American ski shop. This extensive testing made me believe that Fischer’s skis and boots are the best in the world. Many other testers came to the same conclusion, which is why the brand’s products have risen to the top in every SKI Magazine Gear Guide since 2018. These incredibly well-made products and consistently great results will make my job telling the stories about the skis, boots, brand, and people involved even easier.”
And about how he is hoping to leverage his prior experience as an editor for a major ski publication, he explains, “By taking the skills and experience I developed while successfully growing both SKI Magazine and Silverton Mountain in the digital space, I cannot wait to work with the entire team at Fischer to make the brand even more prominent in the world of American skiing.”
