SOLE Custom Footbeds Donates $12,000 And Counting to Big City Mountain

(Calgary, AB) – Renowned mountaineer Ed Viesturs has climbed the world’s highest peaks with the support of SOLE Custom Footbeds under his feet every step of the way. Now, Viesturs and SOLE have teamed up again to support and encourage America’s urban youth to get outside and experience the wilderness with SOLE’s $12,412 contribution to Big City Mountaineers.

SOLE’s contribution to Big City Mountaineers represents the first installment of an ongoing charitable giveback program. For every Ed Viesturs Signature Edition Footbed sold, SOLE donates $2 to Big City Mountaineers, a 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is, “to provided urban teenage youth in need of positive adult mentoring with challenging and safe wilderness experiences led by qualified adult volunteer guides.”

“Ed has been a long-time supporter of Big City Mountaineers and for SOLE to recognize his commitment to our program with such a generous donation is remarkable,” states Mark Godley, Executive Director of Big City Mountaineers. “SOLE’s donation will be used to help at least a dozen young people continue their positive relationship with the outdoors and our programs through BCM’s Teen Employment program in 2008.”
